FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long is each session?
Two (2) hours.
Do I have to attend in person?
No, the coursework is entirely online and offered via zoom. You will have to participate so you will want to be in a professional meeting setting to connect.
Why is this on zoom?
To ensure access to students across all campus locations, including online programs and out-of-state students, our programs moved to the zoom delivery for this activity. Many other IPE activities such as Unity Clinic or Bedlam Clinic will be in-person for on-campus students.
Is there a dress code?
Since you will have to participate with your camera on, please consider the dress code for your department/college for professional dress.
How is my attendance tracked?
During the activity the zoom coordinator will be tracking attendance using your log-in from your OU university zoom account. Please be sure to log-in to the activity using your OU account.
How is my participation tracked?
Since this is a classroom assignment, professional participation is expected. This includes active engagement in the zoom call, meaningful contributions to group discussions, and staying for the entire duration of the class.
The session I was assigned conflicts with another class. What do I do?
Session changes are easy to process. Please contact OUHSC-IPE@ou.edu at least 24 hours prior and we'll change your session. Note, only two sessions are offered, one in the morning and one in the early afternoon.
I have another class that day. What do I do?
We are not allowed to excuse you from attendance. Please reach out to your program faculty for further instructions. They may rearrange your schedule, have you do APD another time, or give you a make-up assignment.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
Your program may give you instructions. We recommend you prepare by reviewing your scope of practice and being able to speak about your profession, your role on the team, and how you can contribute the health system.
