What: 51st Graduate Research Education and Technology Symposium

The GREAT Symposium provides trainees the opportunity to showcase individual research and gain experience communicating its importance to both specialized and general audiences. Students and postdoctoral fellows compete for travel grants as well as cash prizes for select events.  In addition to poster & oral presentations, GREAT includes the Flash Talk Competition, in which participants strive to master their scientific storytelling ability with a 3-minute elevator pitch, communicating the who/what/why of their research to a broad audience.  GREAT also includes Career Development panels, special speakers an Awards Ceremony and Closing Reception, all of which are organized by a student-led committee.

IPE Poster Hall (Virtual)

Event date: 4/21/2026

April is recognized as Interprofessional Education month across the nation. As a method to observe this, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences participates in Unity Week. During this week we highlight and celebrate our IPE activities and programs across campus.  

Undergraduate students, graduate students, professional students, certificate participants, and residents are invited to participate in the Unity Week Poster Hall organized by the Interdisciplinary Student Council. This is an exciting opportunity for learners and residents to showcase their research. Whether you are a student, a researcher, or a professional from any field, you are welcome to participate in this event.

All Professions Day 2 (zoom)

Event date: 2/27/2026

A series of two virtual interprofessional educational sessions will engage over 1200 students from 27 degree programs across the OU Health Sciences, OU Tulsa, OU Norman campus, and our online programs. Students will engage in education related to the IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice of: 

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Values and ethics
  • Teams and teamwork
  • Communication

Note: Student attendees are assigned by their program faculty. Times and zoom links are sent to those assigned to attend.
