In this learning experience, participants will learn to recognize the stigmas that surround SUDs and how they impact patient care. This simulation seeks to help increase knowledge of treatment modalities for SUDs, harm reduction, and patient care while allowing participants to practice working as an interdisciplinary team to create a treatment plan for their patients. This simulation aims to foster empathy, compassion, and critical thinking, enabling participants to better comprehend the barriers preventing underserved populations from accessing quality healthcare. By simulating real-life situations, our interdisciplinary substance use simulation equips healthcare providers with the tools to develop more holistic, patient-centered approaches to address the impact that Substance Use Disorders can have on health and well-being.
